Okay, so 2025 and Ethereum, right? š It’s beenā¦ a journey. Started all optimistic, like someone expecting a compliment, then BOOM. Trump tariffs. Because of course. Plummeted to $1,500 in April-honestly, Iāve had brunches with more staying power. Then, a brief, dazzling flirtation with $5,000, almost thereā¦ almost. Like almost getting a text back. You know the feeling.
And naturally, it decided to do the opposite of anything sensible after that. We’re talking a near 50% nosedive. Bottomed out at $2,600. Tried to pretend things were fine around $3,000, but let’s be real, itās justā¦ hovering. In a slightly pathetic way. But wait! There’s more doom and gloom… I mean, information.
The Rich Are Running
Apparently, the people with actual money-the āwhales,ā as theyāre so modestly called-are quietly exiting stage left. Ali Martinez pointed out they’ve casually dumped $360 million worth of ETH in a week. A week! That’s like, a decent house down the drain. šø Their stash is dwindling too, shrinking from 5.73 million tokens to 5.61 million. Shifty, right?

And it’s not just the whales feeling pessimistic. Those shiny new Ethereum ETFs? Losing money hand over fist. Farside says theyāre down nearly $650 million in the last week. A casual $700 million since December 11th. Thatās justā¦sad. Inflowās taken a tumble from over $15 billion in October to a measly $12.5 billion. Honestly, at this rate, I’m expecting a strongly worded email from my portfolio.
But Hold Onā¦ Maybe? š¤·
Okay, there’s a small, flickering ember of hope. Apparently, regular people-us-are returning. Santiment says new ETH addresses are popping up like mushrooms after rain, over 190,000 a day in December. Which isā¦ optimistic. Delusional? Possibly. But optimistic.
And some bloke named Merlijn The Trader thinks this is all setting up for a big breakout. Heās comparing it to 2015-2018. Deep thoughts. Big words. Potentially triple-digit gains against BTC. But, you know, donāt quote me. I just report the chaos.
