In the dim glow of the trading screens, Lighter faltered to a measly 1.53, and yet, as if summoned by a stubborn conscience, buyers gathered like penitents around a small flame. They defended the ruinous edge of $1.5 with a zeal that was almost comic-the market’s sense of dignity, if one might call it that, held the line at a price that preferred to be remembered rather than spent. The ascent to a local 1.85 looked almost heroic, only to retreat with a sigh, as if the coin itself were whispering, “Enough drama, gentlemen.”
As I write these lines, Lighter [LIT] sits at 1.81, up 16.4% on the day. The price lift is painted with a 16% jump in trading volume, a chorus of voices claiming bullish momentum while the floorboards groan under the weight of optimism and fear alike.
Lighter sees renewed demand
After LIT tested the sacred 1.5, futures traders sprang into action like characters in a Dostoevsky novel suddenly discovering a coin in the gutter. According to CoinGlass, Open Interest (OI) climbed 16% to $145.7 million, while Volume rose 28% to $178 million. One can almost hear the market whisper, when OI and Volume rise in tandem, that more souls are venturing into the futures arena and the money does not know where to go but forward.

Indeed, the altcoin saw over $83.37 million in Futures Inflow compared to $79.2 million in outflows. Futures Netflow surged 237% to $4.08 million, a testament to buyer dominance in a realm where risk trades in the shadows of leverage and bravado.
Meanwhile, the Long/Short Ratio crept above 1, to 1.004, with Binance Top Traders in the lead. A ratio above 1 suggests that the crowd rushed in with long positions, a sign, perhaps, that hope has learned to speak in numbers.
Whales stake $2.3 million worth of LIT
Interestingly, amid the price pump, investors-especially the whales-turned to the network’s staking pool. According to Winngamer, two whales deposited 2,322,712 LIT into the lighter staking pool.
The first whale deposited 2,084,712 LIT after holding the funds for a month. The second whale deposited 238,000 LIT after holding for one month.

Typically, when investors flock to staking, it is the sigh of long-term conviction, a pledge to wait in the quiet rooms of the ledger, earning yield while the world spins.
Even more to the point, locking tokens into the staking pool reduces supply, thereby increasing scarcity-a little leverage in the market’s sly arithmetic that could, perhaps, coax price higher.
On top of that, the Lighter team has been unusually active on the buyback side. The team has spent most of its fee revenue on LIT buybacks, as if attempting to press the coin back into the market’s heart.

In fact, Cryptolycus reported that the Lighter buyback program has repurchased over 2.4 million LIT in less than a month. A move that speaks more of resolve than of subtlety. The more buybacks, the less supply, and the more the market can pretend it is not playing with fire, or so one would hope.
Usually, increased buybacks reduce supply, thereby increasing scarcity. With demand for staking and token buybacks, these two forces position the altcoin on a path that looks suspiciously optimistic to the untrained eye.
Is this demand enough to flip $2?
LIT successfully defended 1.5, and demand returned from across the market, as if a chorus of voices suddenly remembered they had opinions. With capital flows into futures, whales staking and token buybacks, its upside momentum hardened.
The altcoin’s Relative Strength Index (RSI) made a bullish crossover, yet stubbornly refused to cross 50, resting at 49. Likewise, the price climbed past EMA50, a sign, perhaps, that upside momentum is no mere whim.

RSI moves in a bullish direction but remains within bearish territory, a reminder that the buyer’s takeover remains tentative. For a bullish continuation, the RSI must flip 50, venture into the bullish zone, and also surpass EMA20.
Should that occur, the upside strength would be validated, lifting LIT toward $2 and aiming for the $2.5 resistance. If this attempted conquest fails, LIT could retreat toward $1.7, with $1.49 as the key support level.
Final Thoughts
- Lighter successfully defended $1.5 and rose to a local high around $1.8 amid renewed demand
- Whales turned to staking, staking $2.3 million worth of LIT while buybacks exceeded 2.4 million LIT
