113,330 Americans: Your Data is Now a Gift Basket!

A Colorado-based healthcare provider decided to throw a data party, and 113,330 Americans got an invite. Turns out, the guest list included your Social Security number, medical history, and that one time you forgot to cancel your gym membership. Yay!

Western Orthopaedics, P.C. (because “Western Ortho” sounds like a trendy yoga studio) claims an “unauthorized third party” snuck into their network between September 17th and 25th, 2025. The firm didn’t notice until October 2nd, which is basically a modern-day detective story where the detective’s coffee went cold.

After a “thorough investigation” (which probably involved a lot of Googling and panicking), they discovered that your entire life was now up for grabs. Think: full names, addresses, phone numbers, and the secret to your credit card PIN (spoiler: it’s your dog’s birthday).

Oh, and your health info? Covered. Your insurance details? Included. Even that time you lied about your age on a dating app? Yep, that’s in there too. Because nothing says “trust us” like a breach that feels like a betrayal.

Western Ortho is offering free credit monitoring. Because nothing says “we care” like a subscription to a service that’s basically a fancy way of saying, “We’re sorry, but your life is now a Netflix show no one asked to watch.”

The government says 113,330 people are affected. Because numbers are just suggestions, right? At least now you can finally stop pretending you don’t know your own Social Security number.
