According to the Shibburn website, 34 million SHIB tokens were sent to crypto’s version of the trash fire in the last seven days. Yet the burn rate is so negative, it’s basically a diva at a one-star Yelp review. You pour your heart into burning tokens, and it still says, “Not even a little impressed.”
34,197,836 SHIB were incinerated, but instead of a standing ovation, the weekly burn rate dropped 79.28%. That’s like baking a cake and the guests throw it back at you because it tastes like regret and expired coupons.
But wait! The Shiba Inu burn rate had a 24-hour comeback, up 28.17%-proof that even crypto can have a 2 a.m. emotional text. 2,263,020 SHIB were torched in a day, while the last 30 days saw 174,380,847 SHIB go up in smoke. A 3.74% dip? That’s crypto for “you’re doing great, just… not great enough.”

A total of 410,840,048,587,457 SHIB have been burned out of the initial 1 quadrillion supply. Shiba Inu’s total supply is now 589,159,952,012,542 SHIB. So low it’s like trying to find a good parking spot at a mall on Black Friday.
SHIB price declines
The crypto market extended its selling early Saturday with most digital assets recording significant losses. Shiba Inu was likewise in red; at the time of writing, SHIB was down 4.44% in the last 24 hours to $0.00000556 and 5.06% weekly. Classic move, Shiba. Classic move.
CoinGlass data showed $916 million in crypto liquidations over the past 24 hours, with longs accounting for the majority of this figure. That’s more than the GDP of some small countries. Longs were liquidated about eleven times as much as shorts. If this were a reality show, the longs would’ve been voted off first.
The selloff affected 152,025 traders who were liquidated, according to CoinGlass data. Of the total liquidation, $843 million came from long positions. Short bets? A paltry $75 million. It’s like the market said, “You guys thought this was a party? It’s a funeral.”
The selloff comes as rising global bond yields sap demand for riskier, zero-yield assets. Because nothing says “I trust the economy” like buying crypto during a financial hot tub party.
