Bitdeer, a company specializing in cryptocurrency mining, has announced the DL1 Hydro, its latest mining machine. This new model uses hydro-cooling technology and joins the DL1 Air in Bitdeer’s range of hardware. The DL1 Hydro is specifically built to mine cryptocurrencies that use the Scrypt algorithm, such as Litecoin (LTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), and others like BELLS, JKC, LKY, and PEP.

The DL1 Hydro miner delivers a hashing power of 52.5 GH/s and is designed to efficiently mine Litecoin (LTC) and Dogecoin (DOGE). It uses 149 watts of power per GH/s when operating in a 35°C environment. The machine consumes an average of 7823 watts and offers three operational modes: Normal, Low Power, and High Hashrate, allowing users to balance performance and energy consumption.

Water acts as a coolant 

The DL1 Hydro is a compact server, designed with a small 2U form factor. Bitdeer notes that it can operate with water temperatures ranging from 20°C to 60°C and humidity levels between 10% and 90%. The cooling system can use either pure water or water mixed with anti-corrosion or antifreeze solutions. Bitdeer highlights that the DL1 Hydro is primarily intended for mining cryptocurrencies that use the Scrypt algorithm.

From what I’ve gathered, the company hasn’t released details on pricing or when the product will actually be available – they’re just saying it’s coming soon. They’re positioning this model as a good fit for today’s mining operations, with a focus on simplifying logistics and reducing the burden on operations management.

As of today, Bitdeer’s stock increased by roughly 2.52% to $17.93, according to Yahoo Finance.

The previous model 

The company first launched the Air model in March 2026, before releasing its Hydro model. The SEALMINER DL1 Air was a new air-cooled miner designed to work with Scrypt algorithms, allowing users to mine cryptocurrencies like Litecoin and Dogecoin, and others that utilize the Scrypt algorithm.

Bitdeer announced that the DL1 Air mining machine delivers approximately 25 GH/s of processing power while using 149 Joules of energy per GH/s. Building on their SEALMINER line, this new machine uses standard air cooling, making it simple to set up in typical mining facilities without the need for complex liquid cooling systems.

Besides Litecoin and Dogecoin, this machine can also mine other cryptocurrencies that use the Scrypt algorithm, such as Bellscoin (BELLS), Junkcoin (JKC), Luckycoin (LKY), and Pepecoin (PEP).

Bitdeer has suggested that Scrypt mining could be used for merged mining, which allows miners to earn rewards from multiple cryptocurrencies simultaneously with the same computing power. For example, Litecoin miners can also earn Dogecoin rewards without any extra work, thanks to the similarities between the two currencies.

Efficient cooling remains a key factor 

Keeping hardware cool is essential for maintaining consistent performance and preventing failures, especially when running at high capacity. While liquid cooling is effective, it also requires extra steps like managing the coolant, preventing leaks, and integrating it with a facility’s overall cooling system.
