Now, let’s not forget that Lee’s Ethereum target requires a gain of roughly 415% from its current price near $2,323. A tall order, indeed! But fear not, for our hero remains undeterred, even as macroeconomic uncertainty and geopolitical tensions loom like storm clouds on the horizon.

This isn’t Lee’s first rodeo, mind you. He previously predicted ETH would hit $10,000 to $12,000 by the end of 2025. Alas, the asset peaked at a mere $4,946 in August before plunging like a tragic heroine in a Victorian novel. How very dramatic!

Exchange Inflows: A Tale of Jittery Holders and Emotional Woes

Meanwhile, the astute analyst Darkfost has observed that “some degree of short-term instability remains among large ETH holders.” Binance, it seems, has logged several hourly inflow spikes through early May-a veritable parade of nervous investors fleeing like lemmings at the first sign of trouble.

Darkfost counted 216,152 ETH inflow worth $511 million on May 6, followed by another 98,552 ETH ($224 million) on May 8, and 125,146 ETH ($288 million) on May 9. Binance’s reserves have swelled accordingly, with the exchange now holding about 3.62 million ETH, or roughly 24.6% of all Ethereum held on centralized platforms. How utterly gauche!

“What is particularly interesting about these transfers is that they all occurred while the price was entering corrective phases, whether shallow or more significant. This behavior appears to reflect emotional reactions from investors rather than calculated profit-taking,” the analyst remarked with a sigh. “It may also explain why Ethereum has been stuck in a consolidation phase for several weeks now,” he added, no doubt shaking his head in dismay.

The data, my dears, highlights a delightful split between bullish institutional positioning and weakening short-term holder conviction. Whether this dynamic shifts and Ethereum reaches Lee’s target remains, as they say, an open question. But oh, what a question it is!
