During a recent interview with CNBC, David Marcus, Lightspark co-founder and CEO, made a stunningly bold claim: Bitcoin, that magical digital money, might one day be worth $1 million. “Over the long term, this thing should be worth $1 million or more,” Marcus said, shrugging like he just predicted rain on a desert. When asked when this miracle might happen, he replied, “No clue. Maybe next Tuesday. Maybe when the aliens take over.”
“The fascinating thing about Bitcoin’s price is that it goes up, then goes down, then goes up again, then crashes, then rallies, then crashes harder, then rallies harder, then crashes… you get the idea,” Marcus added, clearly a man who’s seen it all-or at least watched enough crypto charts.
Marcus remains “very bullish” long term, which means he’s still betting on Bitcoin while sipping coffee from a mug that says “HODL.” But short-term predictions? “I’ll stick to predicting the weather,” he said. “That’s less pressure.”

An Uber-Bullish Target (or a Cry for Help?)
Bitcoin is currently trading in the mid-$70,000s, which is down from its October 2025 peak of $126,000. To hit Marcus’ million-dollar dream, it’ll need a 1,200% rally. Good luck with that. The crypto prophets are still nodding their heads, though. Michael Saylor, that crypto guru, insists Bitcoin is “mathematically destined” to reach $1 million. Translation: He’s really good at math and even better at ignoring reality.
Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest, the Wall Street wizards who once predicted flying cars, now thinks Bitcoin could hit $1.2 million by 2030. Arthur Hayes, ex-BitMEX CEO, threw his hat into the ring too, citing the “systemic fragility of traditional finance.” Which is just a fancy way of saying, “Trust us, we’re smarter than bankers.”
